With access to ten different weapons, each with a devastating super attack, players can battle through vast hordes of enemies using whatever play style they choose. The day has finally arrived! After five months of toiling, the folks here at Team C-Esta have finished Armourgeddon and released the final build right here on Indie DB. And now, we even have a trailer!

Armourgeddon

Give it a watch, and when you have some time, please download Armourgeddon and try it out. A lot of hard work from a lot of talented people went into it, and it would mean a lot to us if you gave it a chance. Thanks!

I played the first mission and it was loads of fun and a nice challenge with all the enemies. but after I exited the game, I can't seem to find the file to launch the game again out of the dozens of other files. and I also thought that the super move for the "Q" button's weapon had a bad camera angle, you can't really see where you're going, and you can't go backwards, plus it doesn't seem to do much damage. and if there are enough enemies around to keep the super move going, you just keep spinning forever, which is annoying and funny at the same time. also, I feel like there aren't enough shoulder mounted weapons. but despite all of that, it's a great game.

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the helpful feedback!

If you search for "Armourgeddon" on the start menu, you should find a shortcut to the game if you'd like to play again. Hope that helps. =)

To be perfectly honest, I'm a little disappointed to read "Final Build" by the download. After playing the only mission and making it quite far in Arena Mode, I feel like I've completed all this game has to offer and have little reason to go back to it (and I did this in one sitting). I really love the mechanics; the game gives this sort of third-person SHMUP bullet-hell feel that I haven't seen before and I really dig it. That being said, I would love to see this game gone into more depth (more variety in weapons, weapon and mech upgrades, longer campaign, perhaps multiplayer?) and more polish. Armourgeddon is a good game, but after playing through it I can't help but feel that it falls short of being a great game.

I love your ideas with the mechanics, and I really hope to see more from you guys soon!

It's great to hear that you enjoyed the mechanics and feel of the game! If Armourgeddon was fun enough to leave you wanting more, then we're very satisfied and can only echo your desire for more content and features.

Given more development time, we would have loved to add more missions and pretty much all the features you mentioned. We even had the framework for an upgrade system and a local co-op mode prototyped, but alas, did not have the time to implement them in a stable state. Such are the limits of a five month, part-time development cycle. C'est la vie.

Very fun little game. Definitely worth playing!
Didn't have any real problems with the game itself, though precise aiming's a little hard with how the mouse aiming is set up but that's a minor problem. Another thing, the HUD seemed a little big, especially the dialogue boxes. Also, why have a health meter on the HUD when you have one on the back of the mech (or the other way round for that matter)?
In terms of weapons the only one I found worthwhile was the dauntless cannon, the rotary cannon didn't do enough damage and/or isn't accurate at long ranges, the missile launcher needs greater splash radius to make it worthwhile, and the flame thrower needs more damage. Also I found it a little annoying that you can't adjust your aim for the primary weapons' super moves while they're going off.
And that's not counting how much the charge move breaks the game, letting you plough through even the big bots usually one hit killing them. That said, the super move for charge is even more game breaking especially in area mode because you can pick up more balls of electricity while your zooming around, thereby keeping you going until you run out of enemies (which in wave 21 is never).
What would be awesome if added: multiplayer or an upgrade system.

Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! These are all very valid points (though you can actually adjust your aim during the Rapidfire Rotary Cannon's super attack). Definitely good to know for the future!

We actually had a prototype local Co-Op Arena mode working and bounced around a Versus mode, but that was where we had to draw the line and focus on fixing bugs. If we had a few more months, we would have totally jumped on that.

The song is called "Steam Powered" by Professor Elemental. You can find it on iTunes. =)
