The Mayan Mystery is a retro-inspired metroidvania with an emphasis on exploration. You play as Mitch, and with the help of your best friend (Otis) and mentor (Dr.A), must stop Horatio Hawk from escaping the Mayan temple with a magical artifact! This is the first in a series of games that will take the Adventures Apes from one location to the next, one era to the next, all in an effort to keep the world's most precious treasures out of Horatio's hands! The full version one the Adventure Apes Webpage has 5 bosses and more than 100 rooms plus an illustrated instruction booklet! :)
A full version of the game is now available to play!

So, after four years of development in various forms (PC/DS/PC),the Mayan Mystery is done! It's a huge relief to finally have the game come to an official end. Although the game is playable from start to finish, there are still some things that need ironing out from my side, and it'll be free from my website in the meantime. The main download link comes with the game, as well as the illustrated manual, but you can still get either separately on the page. (There is a secret somewhere on the page as well, but you'll have to work to figure it out!)
Here are a couple of the latest screenshots for the last portion of the game...

Horatio Hawk says his goodbyes:

It would mean a huge amount to me if you do try the game, that you offer up your opinion, good or bad. I've learned a lot so far from making of this game, and am planning on putting it all to use for the continuation of the Adventure Apes story. Any more feedback will just add to the learning experience:)
Anyway, here is the link to the download page (I'm keeping it on my website until the issued mentioned at the top are done):
