Hey there! I just wanted to touch base with everyone to show some of the new work I've been getting done on 3079 lately!
I have not been slacking, and have taken much of your constructive criticism to heart! Functional fortresses will be included soon. As this was one of the most asked for features, I am sure many of you will be glad to hear that it will be a fun part of the final game.
That's not all, I have been toying with a new way of character creation, and have managed to increase the polygon count. Let me show you what I mean:
The higher polygon count helps out in the graphics department, and will ultimately make the game look better in general.
Last but not least, better server address detection. Previously, you would have to find your IP using external sources, which was a bit of a pain. Now, the game will recognize your server information (Read: IP) which will allow you to send it to your friends in a much more streamlined manner. Basically, it was showing your internal IP adress before, one that outsiders could not use, which is not the case anymore.

Great! honestly i like the look of this game but the.. "odd" characters in it turned me off a bit, now that they look a bit more human i might buy it.

i already tryed to build with the buildingblocks but its very hard to place cause of no "rig" so you dont know where you place a block.
but it will be EPIC! the new humans ad neanders looks fun :P

I can't wait for fortress building. It will add a lot more strategy and variety to the game. Is the building going to be flexable so you can place each block or limited in some ways?
NIce, i love the new characters! I just want to know, wouldn't it be easier, to post some sort of 3079 server client, like minecraft has, so it would be easier to host etc? Just an idea ;P
Can we get the ability to force NPCs to stay at our fort so we can get vendors (ie, always able to find a vendor), the ability to store/craft items (crafting based on engineering), etc eventually? Hmm, it would also be cool if we could eventually build cannons into our forts :D. Really tear up the landscape with explosions.I think all of that would be awesome to include after the items listed on this page (not in this comment) are put into place.
Though, I'll admit, can't wait to just build my own little fort.
