Writer/novice programmer looking for work Thread

Hi, my name is Tom. I am very new to the game development scene and would love to jump in and offer my talents. I have been a natural born storyteller all my life and am able to craft intricate plots and characters in my mind. Finally though I wish to use this talent to help develop games, something I have had a passion for my whole life. As well as having a passion for programming, I am currently teaching myself Java and that will be my first language I have fully learned. Since I am new I am not able to present a portfolio but if you are interested in possibly bringing me along I will gladly do a writing prompt for a quest, plot, character, etc. for you to show my ability.
