Windows 8.1 has not given me any problems but because of its stupidity at time I would recommend Windows 7. |

I like Win 8 but there's some older stuff that doesn't work on it. Just like there was some stuff that didn't work on Win XP that did with 9x/2k, and some stuff that didn't work in Vista/7 that worked on XP. I want to say the version of Windows that was the MOST compatible with all games was 98: it let you run DOS, Win 3.x & 95 games w/o issues! |

I play succesfully at XP SP 3 and I wanted to jump at Windows 7. But support for 7 has ended so I am waiting for Windows 10 because it's look great in TP. -- Visit my page: www.indiegamer.info |

I have no problems on gaming with Windows 8.1. |

Is it worth upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1 gaming-wise? |
||

8.1 has other great usability features compared to 8, so you might consider upgrading anyway since it's free. But gaming-wise, Win8.1 offers support for DX11.2, which is the latest DirectX version for PC, while Win8 only support DX11.1. You should be able to run all modern games on both though, since currently I don't know any game that is made as DX11.2 exclusive. Edited by: InStars |
