I noticed you can do it with engines but not games.... why not?

Also early access is NOT "released" people.

Early access is released, only not finished. Early access games (just like released games) can be reviewed and judged as well, they are not sacred cows.

Unless it's finished it's not released. Early access is merely rebranded bought beta builds.

It is released to the public in its early form so it can be reviewed. Beta builds? Nope. Even very early alpha builds are released as early access games. The community has the right to treat alpha-funded/early-access games as released games because developers take money for products released in such a sorry state and sometimes run away with it. ;-)

Most games here are commercial by the way. Would probably prefer some freeware/free-to-play/commercial price tag filter than an actual licence filter.

By that logic the earlier paid for beta games like mount and blade was released years before it reached 1.0. Early-access is simply rebranded beta, pre-EA lots of beta's were paid for just not as many as now. EA's are at best semi-released, treating them as released is the same as treating shareware as free.... makes it horribly difficult to actually get what you are searching for. Also treating beta's like full games to "stick it to the man" is emotional logic with no baring on accuracy.

Yes Mount & Blade was, at that very moment when it started selling. As products, those beta games are released to the public and actively sold. Would you try to protect unfinished games from reviews/ratings of legitimate customers who may not be satisfied with their state of completion?

Shareware is free. Demos are free as well. Games have different builds, with different (or no) price tags so a game demo can be free while its final (or alpha, or beta) version can be paid. Selling alphas and betas is selling released yet unfinished games, and they all can be reviewed and rated as products.

Well, still, not sure why the site shows "early access" games as released games when the released filter is selected. Bug? Hmmm. Early access games should be reviewable/rateable (just like released games), but perhaps not displayed alongside released games.

Ok allow me to restate as you highlighted a hole in my logic. Instead of "released" perhaps it should be "released as" filters with the "released as" part truncated out, so "finished" instead of "released".

Technically shareware and demo's are "free" yes but semantically mostly are understood as not, like "empty" gas cans. Instead of being technically correct it is better to be semantically correct.
