What hardware you currently running, what upgrades are you looking at getting soon?, should be interesting to look back at this thread in a few years and see what dinosaurs we were all running.

Desktop:
GeForce GTX 590
Intel Core i7-2700K / 3.50GHz
Asus Xonar Essence STX

Laptop:
GeForce GTX 860M
Intel Core i7-4810MQ / 2.80GHz

Both have 16GB R.A.M. and Windows 7; The laptop has crappy onboard sound, but the Xonar Essence STX is absolutely amazing. I can't listen to my music without it now.

I'm not interested in upgrading at the moment, but i'd very much like to downgrade; Unfortunately all my old computers have fallen apart from overuse, so i'd like to get something a little older, maybe in a Windows 98, so i can play my classic games such as Z again. :)

  • FX-8350 Eight-Core 4.0Ghz /Processor
  • GTX 960 4GB /Graphics Card
  • 12 GB /RAM

My RAM is actually low in Mhz, my graphics card could do with upgrading for Vive stuff, limit for new card is £200, limit for new RAM is £145.

Using a 'Asus Crosshair V Formula Z AMD 990FX' motherboard so it is capable to have memory up to 2133 (O.C). Any suggestions on decently speedy RAM?

Got this laptop some 5 years ago...

Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.0GHz
Geforce GTX 560M 3GB
8GB Ram
17" screen (or is it 19" ?)
Soundblaster USB HD (or something like that)

My desktop is some 10 years old now... can't remember what it is.

Both on Win 7.

Are you sure you did not mess up again? :)Didn't you mean 640 GB.. harddisk/SSD/whatever, persistent storage?

640GB ROM (Read Only Memory) is a huge amount, and it is in those amounts pretty much useless :)

CPU : Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz

RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz

Graphics : ATI AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (Sapphire/PCPartner)

I do have other Ram but 8 GB seems enough for the games which I play ?

I'm guessing now but I think some upgrade for GPU may well be needed, though for the most par it seems to do quite well with BF1 ?

Good to know this thread is so lively over so many years ahah

  • Ryzen 9 3600X CPU [12 core 3.8Ghz base]
  • Corsair 750W PSU
  • Corsair 2x8GB RAM 3600Mhz
  • RTX2060
  • 860QVO SSD [1TB]
  • Aorus Elite x570 Motherboard
  • Even a whole new tower to put it all in

Hopefully I won't really have to upgrade for another 10 years now. [Aside from perhaps a new Gfx card]

Once again I acquired a graphics card without really looking at which sockets it has on the back [3 Display Ports + 1 HDMI], minor setback having to acquire DP->HDMI cables but everything's gleaming now.

Now back to attempt mapping with the UT3 UDK for lil'ol RenegadeX. [Not official mapper, but dang does RenX need more maps]

Recently I decided to buy a bunch of new equipment home, because everything is already outdated and I realized that I spent a lot of money on it. And just after that, my neighbor was robbed. And I began to worry very much about the safety of my things. Then a friend advised me to install Ajax because it is a system that can quickly react to thieves thanks to motion sensors and quickly eliminate the threat. In general, I was very happy and bought this alarm system for myself. So far, I like everything through the application, you can control everything that happens.

well I'm taking a long break on building PCs, I'm using this right now
