Electronic Poets are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Javascript developer to help work remotely on a multiplayer story-telling game.

The ideal candidate will know a bit of Javascript and related HTML/CSS technologies, and have some general programming skill. Experience isn't essential, you'll have time to learn the system and have licence to make mistakes. You'll be working in the browser to produce critical tooling and in-game interfaces. Frameworks are open to negotiation, but in lieu of a better option you'll be using JQuery and developing a proprietary library of re-usable components.

We may also have space for a server-side developer, so if you know your Mongoose from your MongoDB and are savvy with server maintenance and security, it's worth dropping us a line. We've got a Node.js backend which is evolving nicely, but a bit of experience to help it grow won't hurt.

Communication and integrity are critical skills. You must be reasonably responsive and articulate, and if you say you're going to do something, we expect you to follow-through (or clearly explain why). You must be able to accept criticism, but also ask for help when something isn't clear.

The position is for a part-time developer. Some funds are available, depending on the extent of your contribution, but understand we're talking pocket money, not a living wage. We want to find people we can parter up with long-term: maybe you can only offer 10 hours a month, but you'll be part of the team for a year. The project is very much in early-stage incubation, but if successful it will run and evolve for years to come.

Serious applicants only, please, preferably 18+. Applications should be e-mailed to jobs at electronicpoets.co.uk.
