Is nudity pornographic? Thread

Nudity is not pornographic right? Just sexual content?

I think nudity can show a lot of things not just sexual or pornographic, its all about the aspect in which its presented. Someone naked, and running through the woods in the middle of the night doesn't bring 'its baby making time' thoughts, it makes me feel that that person is afraid and vulnerable. Just like seeing someones body and its covered in scares it makes me think more about their past and how they received each scar. Clusters of people just walking around naked or semi naked and no one seems to care that everyone else's goods are just flapping in the wind, its an area of extreme poverty or pre-industrialization.

Are rating systems now aren't geared toward how the naked people are portrayed, just that their naked and therefore no suitable for certain age groups.

Do you know how IndieDB feels about it? One of my games was removed for Rape, but i'm hoping I could still use the naked women I made.

Rape is a very touchy subject, and even though many consider games a form of art and aloud to tackle whatever subject matter they want, the majority of people see them as children's play things. Its going to take a lot of time and unity from all developers before games get the ability to make whatever they want with whatever content they like and EA isn't helping.

In terms of nudity being aloud and uploaded in the games we post here on IndieDB, are there any mods who would like to answer that one?

Have to agree with you. Nudity is not pornographic and might not even be any sexual content at all. I mean come on, we all have the same parts, let's not be immature there.

Also there is this strange nudism trend where people throw their clothes away and enjoy being naked while swimming or sun-bathing. It's especially popular amongst some Germans (they call it "FKK").

To me it depends on the purpose. If a game is really meant as porn, nudity is a good way to make porn. But if the game isn't meant as porn, nudity may not lead to porn

Though presenting nudity in a game (or anything) is like putting big fire inside a house. It's not meant to burn the house but it could do that if not handled carefully

Oh yes, try asking this question to a female gamer or at least a woman . Ask them about rape theme too
