Hello

Long story short: I have been studying physics and informatics for 5 years now. All that time I have suppressed my desire to pursue more artistic career because of social pressure/parents/fear. Recently I have been sick for a while and I had to stop the rat race for a year and that made me change my mind 180 degrees: I have only one life and still have a chance(I am 25) to do what I always dreamed to: do make computer games. :)

Its not like I have no background in the area. My parents have both finished artistic degrees and taught me to draw(so I have some drawings). I have also created a short browser puzzle (notpron like Notpron.org), a 2k-lines-long game in LOVE and a bunch of exercises in difrerent languages like shaders and stuff. In the following year I will finish bachelors degree in informatics. Not to mention the amounts of games I have played.

So now I want to spend a year In London and get Masters in games development. I know that game development degrees have been criticised a lot but I would also like to see some “big world” and physically meet people who like to make games too. Could you give me some advice/opinions on universities supporting game development degrees? I have only the knowledge from google search of “london game development school” etc., so any advice will be precious for me. For now my research yielded the masters programme in Goldsmiths: Gold.ac.uk. What do you think?

The reason I picked London is that the industry seems to be one of the biggest in europe and basically I can speak english only.

Thanks!
