Hi everyone,

I have a question I've been wanting to ask, and some of you might find this a stupid question, but I'm kind of a computer noob, so I'll have to ask it.

I recently purchased GTA V and I get quite a bit of lag playing it, especially during driving and other fast and crowded stuff. I checked the minimun pc specs for GTA and saw that my PC is good enough for at least medium graphics and no lag, except for one thing. To play GTA the recommend at least 4 GB RAM, and that's exactly what I have (please don't laugh), and I was wondering if this is causing the lag (which I suspect it is), and if so, what kind of RAM sticks/which brand should I buy to fix this?

Thanks for your time!

Hello Charles_Robrech,

As a general rule, minimum/recommended specs don't mean shit; They're a selling point for the game, nothing more. (As an example, Company of Heroes recommends 1GB R.A.M./512min, which is pretty useless for such a demanding game. My computers have 16GB, and it still has lag spikes sometimes in large games).

Grand Theft Auto V is a very new game, so 4GB just isn't going to cut it. I would personally recommend at least 16GB (preferrably D.D.R.3) for G.T.A.V, which i imagine would run the game well on max graphics (so long as the rest of the system is up to par as well, of course). It would be wise to do some thorough research before upgrading though, so as to avoid potentially wasting your money.

Cheers, CoHtaku.

You need 4gb VRAM to run the game at Max / Ultra EG a (GTX970 4GB or GTX980TI 4GB)
RAM wont allow you to improve the graphics, but will give you some overhead.

So can you use every type of RAM for every type of pc. I have a Medion pc, do I need special kind of RAM ?
