Hey guys,

I'd like to share the project for indie game developers I am currently working on:

The basic funding goal has been smashed within 17 hours and we are now approaching the fourth stretch goal.

Sprite DLight's main feature is the generation of voluminous normal maps from 2D sprites in one click.
This way, you could create a game featuring dynamic lighting on pixel art characters and objects, simply by processing the existing game art and using the normal maps in combination with a shader.

There is some time left to back the tool on Kickstarter and to get in on the beta, which will start shortly after the campaign.
Any kind of feedback and support is appreciated, the project is also on Steam Greenlight.

The update section already contains a straightforward step-by-step video guide on the implementation with Unity.

Stretch goal #2 is smashed: The tool will also be available for Mac!

Stretch goal #3 has been reached:

A feature which allows you to re-render sprites for different environments, based on the normal map, mainly for users of game engines that do not support shaders, and it works with the batch processing feature of the Pro version.
The spotlight can be reduced to its directional component, so all frames inside a sprite sheet can be consistently re-rendered.

There is about one week left in the Kickstarter campaign of Sprite DLight, less than $500 missing for the normals-to-lightmaps-conversion option, which allows for manual adjustments to the normal map in a comfortable way.

A short interface redesign progress update:
The flat map generation buttons have been replaced by shiny new orb buttons, representing the appearance of the respective maps.
