Brutal Doom FPS issues... (Forums : Support : Brutal Doom FPS issues...) Locked

Hi,
So I've been having some annoying FPS issues with Brutal Doom...

My rig:

Intel Core i3
CPU 540 @ 3.07 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
8GB Ram
Windows 7 64 Bit

- - -

As you can see... my rig isn't too bad. Overall the game works fine at 1920x1080 resolution, however the explosions, the fire, the smoke effects really lower down my FPS. Is there any way I can reduce the intensity of these effects? Or disable them so I can keep the fire and explosions from the vanilla Doom? I really don't want to have to result to lowering my resolution to 640x800...

I just want to play Brutal Doom so I can enjoy the new guns and the gore... all these explosions, fire and smoke effects are making my game lag.

Also, I always have FPS issues with these guns:
- Plasma Rifle (the plasma balls are WAY too bright and cause way too much smoke)
- Rocket Launcher (the explosions are too intense for me and there's too much smoke),
- BFG (the explosion is too bright and intense)

What do you suggest I do?
Please don't mention that I need to get a better computer... I need to work with what I got.

Please help me! :(
