A friend and I just released under our shared company, Armoire Cannonball, our newest asset for the Unity Asset Store: the Quick Vehicle Editor. Get it here. It's an asset intended to make it easier to set up a vehicle.

  • Setting up the input axes to use is quick and easy.
  • It makes setting up WheelColliders and pairing them with meshes easier.
  • It handles setting throttle torque values, turn angles, and braking to appropriate wheels based on settings you choose.
  • You can easily set whether you can control the vehicle's orientation in the air, and by how much.
  • It's set up with two- and four-wheel "easy" modes which handle setting whether your vehicle is front, rear, or all wheel drive; whether front or wheel wheels can turn; and more.
  • There's also an Advanced mode: You can choose how many wheels your vehicle has and set individual values for each one. It requires more attention, but it gives you a lot of control.

You can visit our website to see a few sample vehicles we made with it.If you grab it, I'd be happy to hear what you think. I'm up for making updates to make using it even smoother. My friend and I have been dabbling in different Unity assets for our fellow developers. We've got a set of chess pieces and Magic Splitscreen, a dynamic splitscreen system that works for both Pro and Indie.
