The Boltons are on their way to planet Earth to destroy the human race, however when they arrive the humans have been destroyed by their own creation of Robots...

What is Boltcraft?
Boltcraft is an arena based RTS game wherein the player controls a single customizable robot in battle against enemy robots using weapons, abilities and deployable defense minions.

Why work on Boltcraft?
Boltcraft is a USC Gamepipe Graduate Advanced Game Project. As it is a year-long student driven project, we cannot offer direct compensation, but we can offer the following:

  • At the end of the project, you will have an industry standard game on your resume!
  • Team members are contractually entitled to any proceeds owed to the team if the game ever becomes published. The allocation of proceeds to the team shall be determined by the team leads based upon a meritocracy system (total effort of each team member). However, all team members understand that publication is not a guarantee of profitability.
  • Team members shall be credited for their effort in the game credits and on the game website.
  • Team members shall be included as part of the USC Gamepipe industry showcase. The industry showcase takes place twice a year, once in December and once in May, and recruiters from companies such as Blizzard Entertainment, Riot, EA, Disney, Activision, Sony and others attend each event.

The Art Style

Characters

The main characters are small robot characters that have a cartoon style. The will be bright colorful robots with a spunky personality. The following link has images of inspiration Robots. We are finalizing our concept art and need some 3D modelers to start bringing them to life.

Environment

The environment will be a stark contrast to the characters. A dark environment, a post apocalyptic world. Ruined buildings and dead terrain. We are looking for 3D Environment modelers. The following link has images of inspiration Environment

Ok,

Wish you well on your efforts, I'd advise you to be aware of the concern that anyone you recruit that is not part of the school will have different motivations, and may need to be managed differently.

Where you and your USC buddies are working for a grade and showcase of the project, they will not be. So, if you get people that flake off, you will be left holding the bag.

Just be careful.

Sure showcase for them would be nice, but your sticking your future directly on these people. I'd advise you get contracts, if you haven't already.

Good luck.
