Hello, I am currently seeking help on a game project, it is currently a small team and I would like to keep it small for now but I would like to find another artist, and possibly another coder. So far the games core team is only 1 artist and 1 programmer, although we have another programmer who may help as well. The game design is rather progressed and we have a fair start on concept art, the next phase I wish to accomplish will be fleshing out some 3D art direction including shader options (this will be a PC game for now) while coding the rest goes on. This art will just be for setting the tone and final assets may end up much more modular. For this work I hope to find a 3D artist who may wish to commit to a group project long term but wants to "feel it out" first. I am both a 2D and 3D artist and will provide art direction / critique as well as my own work and versions which I hope to be provided art direction and critique on.

Music will be a key feature of the game and important, but I currently need to deal with much, much more first. Once other things are done I will seek out musicians.

The game is fairly straight forward and will therefore require a large amount of props to keep it interesting. My goals feel slightly lofty but I believe with a small team they are achievable. I would prefer to find candidates who can fulfill multiple roles.

So far the game has some art done but this post is already very long so I will save it for anybody truly interested. This is also an opportunity to get in early before too much is progressed and "set in stone" although the game has already gone through many revisions!

3D artist-
Experience creating characters, props, vehicles, buildings,
strong color theory a plus
strong lighting skills a plus
toon / stylized realism styles welcome
Animation skills a plus but not required
Experience with unreal 4 workflow a plus

Animator
portfolio of animation especially for games (walk cycles, etc)
effects skills a plus (projectiles, explosions)
Experience with unreal 4 workflow a plus

C++ programmer
portfolio / repository of scripts
Experience with unreal 4 a plus
previous game titles, projects, all a plus.

Communication -----

We will mostly use skype, e-mail, and eventually a forum. If its desired we will setup other things like voice comm server, IRC, etc.

Project Managment -----
We will use Git, a small art blog that will post rolling art updates (private in the beginning until we decide to make a public profile), and perhaps things like Dropbox, Drive, etc.

Royalties / Compensation -----
This project is currently unpaid. If and upon a successful crowdfunding campaign we would be able to provide some sort of compensation that is relative to both how much happened to be raised and the amount of work each team mate has committed into the project. This would be things like models and textures, scripts, etc. I wish to keep the team small because the thought of dividing up arbitrary amounts of work and reward is haunting. Needless to say, if you participate you will be treated fairly and as equals.

Game project itself:

The core team is from Michigan and at this time its an Unreal 4 project, although previously Unity. We have switched for optimization reasons. It will begin as a PC game but other platforms are possible thanks to unreal, especially so as unreal grows and becomes more supported. Prototyping the below features resulted in FPS problems (on mobile) in Unity.

The game is about driving around a large mech and destroying buildings and people and the defenses they muster in an endless procedural rampage. *cough*. Obvious inspiration is obvious. However if the game does well and is well received I would like to add more features such as upgradeable character attributes, unique powers and special moves, boss fights triggered by rampage thresholds / highscores, and maybe even Multi-player.

The story is done up in a ridiculous manner, with your mech being a entertainment attraction gone rogue. Fed up with fans and an out of control ego you destroy everything in your path. How long will you last before the puny humans stop you?

Features ----
Destructible damn near everything
Numerous throwable objects - cars are just the beginning
Epic carnage hitbox detection - leap from a sky scraper pile driving a news chopper to the ground.
Multiple playable characters, each one with a unique power to wield to speed up and enhance your mayhem
procedurally generated, rolling content. As you destroy and replay, more content becomes available to destroy.
Multiple, integrated levels. Start in one city and walk to another, leaving a wake of destruction. Pick where you start as you unlock your tour.
Fun art style combining cartoon studio styles with modern game art shaders (work in progress)
