Posted by on - Basic Other

In this tutorial I'll tell you how to make a basic weapon for your fps game. please note i will use a sprite for a good reason.

Now before you start make sure you've got the latest version of 3drad. dowload it at 3drad.com

Like before there is 2 ways to use this tutorial, either download the file or read this.

Reading

#1: make a weapon sprite (make sure its a PNG file)

#2: save it to: My Computer/Drive 1/ 3drad/3dradres/objects/sprite/data/

#3: open your fps game in 3drad

#4: add a Sprite object and open your weapon sprite

#5: resize it to your liking

#6: add a projectile object

#7: add a ridgid body

#8: select the rigid body and press enter to open a properties window

#9: check Use bounding sphere as body

#10: close the window and resize it to your liking

#11: check it to the projectile object

#12: check the projectile to the Cam1stPerson

#13: open the projectile properties and make the rigidbody the projectile and the Cam1stPerson the parent.

#14: add an event on input and check it to the projectile

#15: Open the event on inputs properties and make the projectile start on input

#16: Now close it and test your game

#17: if it works open the projectiles properties and uncheck DisplayArrow

And thats all, its not as confusing as you would think but still you can download the file here: 3drad.com

A sprite is a 2d photo. Take a screen shot with the weapon how you want it to look than crop and save to the place were he said.
